Parenting is one of the toughest jobs going.
Raising your child up to become a caring, healthy and happy member of society is a never-ending job. Parents can easily reminisce about the many sleepless nights, tears and unending patience that the job demands.
All parents do the very best they can. Sometimes despite best efforts, children need the care of other members of the community to step in and help raise them when their biological parents are unable.
October is Foster Parents month, and CSFS would like to send a big shout out to all non-biological parents, and foster parents who are doing their best to raise our Carrier kids. There are so many amazing families who have opened their homes and hearts to children in need.
What foster parents do for kids in need is truly honorable. October is the time to show our gratitude to these remarkable folks! Just like parenting, where there are as many rewards as challenges, Foster Parents do what they do, simply because they love to help.
To our Foster Parents:
Your dedication to this work makes a huge and positive difference, not only for the children, but also for the Child and Family Service team!
Thank you for going above and beyond, for facilitating family visits, calls and contact, for supporting children’s biological parents and extended family, attending numerous meetings, putting up so eloquently with social worker turnover, changes in plans, and last minute requests. Thank you for maintaining your enthusiasm, despite your many sleepless nights! Thank you for the millions of other things you do that we will never know about. Thank you for your creativity and flexibility, for advocating, and for providing nurturing homes for children. Thank you for opening your hearts, homes, families and lives to children and to us. We appreciate you!
