Improving the health of the community by facilitating the participants’ ability to speak on their own behalf in legal matters, while emphasizing healthy choices and responsibility towards family and community.
The Collaborative Practice Program is crafted with the central goal of ensuring the well-being of children during crises or conflicts that requires resolution in their best interests. Our unique approach seeks to diminish the probability of future high-conflict situations by fostering collaboration and self-determination. This empowerment allows participants to autonomously address future issues by navigating conflicts and asserting their needs.
Our program commonly caters to a diverse range of individuals and groups entangled in high-conflict situations or disputes prevalent in child welfare. Common stakeholders include: families in crisis, children and youth, parents, caregivers, extended family members, Nations and Indigenous communities which could include Chief and Council, Clan Leaders/ Hereditary Chiefs, Band Designates, as well as, social workers and service providers.
The program facilitates the following collaborative meeting processes: Family Group Conferences (FGC), Permanency Planning Meetings (PPM), Family Case Planning Conferences (FCPC), Youth Transition Conferences (YTC) and Prevention Meetings. Our program provide expertise in conflict resolution, mediation, and collaborative techniques.
