Did you know- Ormond Lake Treatment Centre has a Detox? We do not require you to be sober or free of substances before you arrive for your treatment and recovery program.

• New at Ormond Lake this year is the addition of withdrawal management (formerly known as ‘detox’ or ‘medical detox’) will be available for the first week of each program. You do not require 14 days free of substances before you arrive.

• Medical withdrawal management (detox) is most commonly attended in the North as an in patient in Prince George, and now CSFS is bringing these same services to Ormond Lake.

• Medically supervised withdrawal management (detox) will be available to those clients that require it, and they will be integrated into treatment services with their intake groups.

• The CSFS Substance Use and Addiction Service (SUAS) team will be providing medically supervised detox and withdrawal management for people to safely and comfortably withdraw from alcohol and other substances and start rapid titrations of opioid replacement therapies if required. The medical team will be supporting and monitoring withdrawal symptoms 24 hours a day for 7 days. Monitoring will include measuring blood pressure and heart rate, restlessness, anxiety, agitation, and mood changes. This process usually takes 5-7 days, and may require daily ‘check-ins’ after that.

• All participants will be asked to complete a self-screening form which will be kept confidential in the medical records with the medical team. Participants who choose to sign up for the withdrawal management (detox) component will meet individually with someone from the medical team for an intake and develop a medical treatment plan on DAY 1. In addition to withdrawal management (detox), the medical staff will also be starting any medication for cravings and providing appropriate adjunctive medicines that can be arranged for continuation in a home community/pharmacy.
