Carrier Sekani Family Services (CSFS) has received a generous donation of $1000 for the Sk’ai Zeh Yah Youth Centre from the Prince George Spruce Kings BCHL hockey organization, which will be put towards supporting at-risk youth.
David Keough, President of the Spruce Kings, says they decided to donate to Sk’ai Zeh Yah because their organization’s goals and principles line up directly.
“The reason we chose Sk’ai Zeh Yah is because of the work they do with the youth in the community, and that’s something that the Spruce Kings organization really strives for is helping the youth in our community in any way we can,” says Keough. “They’ve been doing good work in the community, and we want to support that.”
Amy Merritt, Director of Youth Services, spoke on how grateful the youth centre is for the generous donation.
“We sincerely appreciate the donation from the Spruce Kings organization, which will be used to purchase clothing and hygiene supplies for our most at-risk youth. We look forward to partnering with them in the future on recreational opportunities for children and youth. Mussi!”
The Sk’ai Zeh Yah Youth Centre is open to children and youth-in-need from all walks of life while also providing wrap-around supports for our most at-risk youth and young adults. The centre is open 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
Mussi, Spruce Kings!
