Youth Centre Opens its Doors to the Public

July 6, 2020

By Robert Doane

The Vanderhoof Youth Centre (VYC) is once again open to the public, but with new restrictions to keep everyone safe during this time.

The gathering space had been closed as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic after recently re-opening at its new location.

The Youth Centre provides a safe space for youth aged 12 to 17 to gather, play or just hangout.

There will be plenty for youth to do upon arrival. The massive space includes a kitchen, video game systems, musical instruments and even a punching bag! Throughout the summer, activities will be planned by onsite staff.

With the Centre now reopened, it will include a number of restrictions to ensure the health safety of youth and staff. Face masks will be mandatory for anyone planning to use the facility. You are asked to either bring your own mask, or we can provide one upon arrival.

The space will be limited to a maximum of ten youth at a time on a first come first serve basis.

The Youth Centre’s hours are from 9:00 AM to 12:00, and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM weekdays, and will be closed from noon to 1:00pm daily for cleaning.
