  • Youth or caregivers are welcome to self-refer by completing the applicable referral form and submitting it by email or in person.

About the Program

Youth Services provides year-round programming and one-to-one support for youth. Activities may include cultural, recreational, educational and land-based opportunities.

The program offers wrap-around, low-barrier supports. Services and groups vary by community and by youth centre.

Who This Serves

  • Youth Services supports youth ages eight to 29.
  • We welcome youth from CSFS Member Nations, including youth living in Prince George, Vanderhoof and Burns Lake, plus youth who are away from home or living in urban centres.
  • Youth Services programming is open to Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth. Some programs and groups are organized by age and gender.

How We Can Support You

One-to-one support: Individualized support is available by self-referral or referral from a community-based professional.
Recreation and group activities: Programs and groups offered throughout the year, based on location.
Low-barrier supports and basic needs: Some locations offer drop-in supports like meals, hygiene items, laundry access and bus tickets.
Cultural and land-based programming: Opportunities that support cultural pride, learning and connection.
Educational and skill-building supports: Activities that support learning, goals and participation in school or community.

How to Access Support

Youth or caregivers can:

  • Complete a Youth Services referral form
  • Self-refer or be referred by a community professional

Program Location Information

Niwh Hiskak Habibeh (Prince George)

Niwh Hiskak Habibeh means “For Our Children.” This team provides youth empowerment services in a safe, welcoming space focused on youth engagement.

Programs may include:

  • Walk Tall
  • Intensive Youth Social Workers
  • Elder youth mentorship, including beading and language groups
  • Youth pantry and food bank
  • Youth Advisory Council
  • Nk’esiy’ “I Love You” PRIDE Group
  • Niwh Khinek “Our Language” program
  • Whu Neh Nee, Wise One’s Study Group (academic support)

S’yoh (Vanderhoof)

S’yoh means “My House.” This youth centre supports youth in and around Vanderhoof through drop-in meals and after-school groups. Youth can also access life skills and recreation through one-to-one or group support.

The S’yoh passenger van helps transport youth to and from services when needed. Staff also facilitate workshops in community and partner with Saik’uz, Nadleh and Stellat’en First Nations.

Programs and supports may include:

  • Walk Tall Groups
  • Healing Through the Pillars (Grief and Loss) Group
  • Equine Assisted Learning – Group and 1:1 Work
  • Intensive Youth Social Workers
  • Laundry and Shower facilities
  • Hygiene Locker
  • Youth Themed Drop-In
  • Youth pantry and food bank
  • Youth Advisory Council
  • Boys Group/Girls Group
  • Lunch and Snack Program
  • Field trips throughout the year

Burns Lake Youth Services

Burns Lake Youth Services works in collaboration with Cheslatta, Skin Tyee, Nee Tahi Buhn, Wet’suwet’en, Ts’il Kaz Koh and Lake Babine Nation.

Programs may include:

  • Standing Strong
  • Youth hang-out groups
  • Community kitchens
  • Walk Tall and additional group programming

Sk’ai Zeh Yah Drop-in Centre (Prince George)

Sk’ai Zeh Yah provides a safe space for youth ages 16 to 29 who are experiencing homelessness. The centre offers low-barrier services and access to social and health supports.

Immediate supports may include:

  • Hot breakfast and lunch
  • Laundry access
  • Hygiene items
  • Bus tickets
  • Peer Recovery
  • Guy’s Group
