About the Program

Dzee Ba’yugh, meaning Heart House, offers short-term emergency shelter for women and their children fleeing family violence. Stays are up to 30 days, with the option to reassess and extend month-to-month when needed, to a maximum of 12 months.

While staying at Dzee Ba’yugh, women and children are supported through culturally appropriate programming and coordinated, wrap-around services. Supports are guided by individual needs and identified in collaboration with youth workers and social workers.

Dzee Ba’yugh exists to provide safety, dignity and stability during a difficult moment. We believe women and children deserve care that is respectful, culturally grounded and centred on their choices. Our role is to offer a safe environment, practical support and connection to longer-term services so families are not facing this alone.
