About the Program
When community members travel to Prince George for care, they often leave family, land and support systems behind. Our Indigenous Patient Liaison Workers support patients and families through that transition, helping people feel seen, understood and cared for in a large hospital environment.
Our team is available throughout the hospital, including intensive care, pediatrics, maternity and the primary medical unit.

- Families and caregivers who are travelling to or staying in Prince George to support a loved one
- Patients who are being transferred to another hospital and need assistance coordinating their arrival
- Community members who need help navigating hospital systems or connecting to cultural or language supports
Why We Do This
Many community members must travel far from home to receive hospital care. We help patients reduce stress, honour cultural identity and make sure people feel supported through every step of their hospital journey. Our role is grounded in respect, cultural safety and the belief that good care includes connection to language, family and community.

- Open to Indigenous patients of any age
- No formal referral required
- Services available throughout all major hospital units
