About the Program

Foster Caregiver and Resource Services provides temporary, safe and culturally connected care for children and youth who cannot remain at home.

Caregivers offer stability, encouragement and belonging during challenging times. Our shared goal is always reunification – supporting children to return home when it is safe to do so.

Caregivers help keep cultural ties strong by attending Nation events, family gatherings and community activities. Once approved, caregivers receive ongoing support from CSFS staff to ensure Indigenous children and youth have what they need to grow, learn and thrive.

Caregivers receive financial assistance to support the needs of the child or youth in their care.
