How To Access

  • Families, Nations, caregivers and service providers can contact a CSFS Guardianship or Resource Worker directly
  • Referrals are also accepted from the Ministry of Children and Family Development and other delegated Indigenous agencies

About the Program

Delegated Child and Family Services supports children, youth and families through nowh guna’ — our way — by grounding child welfare in culture, safety and community connection.

As a delegated agency under the Child, Family and Community Services Act, CSFS provides guardianship services, voluntary family supports and caregiver recruitment for Indigenous children and youth in care. Our teams work closely with families, Nations and community partners to ensure children remain connected to culture, land and identity.

Eligibility

  • Children and youth ages 0–19 in care from CSFS Member Nations
  • Young adults ages 19–27 who qualify for post-majority supports
  • Families seeking voluntary care, respite or special needs agreements
  • Caregivers, foster parents, relatives and group home staff supporting children and youth
  • Nations involved in planning and decision-making for children and youth

This training helps prepare caregivers to support children in care.

Our team visits your home to ensure it meets safety and care standards.

Final approval and onboarding

Once approved, we support you as you begin providing care.
