CSFS Chief Administrative Officer, Mary Teegee-Gray received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Northern British Columbia. This degree was awarded in recognition of her leadership and hard work in advancing culturally-grounded child and family services, empowering First Nation communities and advocating for systemic changes across northern British Columbia and beyond.
Mary’s work spans across many provincial and national organizations and initiatives, which is reflected in this prestigious recognition. Her drive and willpower has truly made a difference for Indigenous people across Turtle Island and is an inspiration for us all.
“This recognition belongs to the many people I have walked alongside—Elders, families, leaders and communities—who continue to guide and inspire this work,” she says. “Together, we are creating a future where First Nations children are safe, supported and proud of who they are.”
