Non-Insured Health Benefits ProgramThe NIHB program provides administrative support to First Nations members that are registered as Status Indians to access and apply for patient travel funding from Health Canada, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch. The program ensures that each client has all the appropriate medical and administrative documents in order to be reimbursed for certain health costs that the Federal government insures.
The main component to this program is Patient Travel, which allows accessibility to the health services they require, to facilitate optimal health & wellbeing. This program services our member First Nations, as well as covers the entire Northern British Columbia region for those living off-reserve.
