Child and Family Services
Mission and Objectives:
Child and Family Service is responsible for developing Guardianship, Child Protection and Resource Services for Carrier Sekani Family Services. We serve all of the member communities. Our workers both Guardianship, and in the future Protection, and Resources are delegated under the Child, Family and Community Service Act and are guided by Aboriginal Operational and Practice Standards and Indicators (AOPSI). Guardianship Workers support and guide the lives of children permanently in care. Protection Social Workers will remove children when every other means of keeping them in their homes or within their communities has been exhausted. Within the Guardianship program the Resource workers are responsible for developing and maintaining Foster and Family Care Homes.
